Are you interested in making a difference in your community? Do you have a special place in your heart for children? The Davies Project seeks passionate and devoted individuals to drive a child and family members to subspecialty medical appointments in the tri-county area.
Volunteer drivers are unpaid and use their own vehicles to drive families to medical appointments. It’s like a neighbor driving a neighbor.
Volunteer driver application
The Davies Project seeks volunteers who:
- Can interact compassionately with all Davies Project families
- Are reliably available at scheduled times and punctual
- Can drive in all weather conditions
- Understand and strictly observe the confidentiality of their riders’ personal, health, and medical care provider information and locations
- Respect different cultures
Required:
- Valid driver’s license
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Safe driving record
- State required liability insurance
- Working mobile phone
- Mandatory background check
- Completion of required training on procedures, including diversity training and proper installation of child car seats
Commitment:
- One year commitment, renewable upon evaluation
- Minimum three (3) hours time commitment per appointment. Occasionally, doctors and clinics may run late or behind schedule.
