Do you love to garden? Have you always wanted to make an impact on a youth’s life through gardening? We are looking for someone to work with youth at our Jackson House Runaway and Homeless Youth Shelter and build life skills through gardening. The mentor will be matched with a small group of interested youth.
For this position, we will need:
The Mentorship Packet
This includes forms that will allow us to run an ICHAT background check, National and Michigan Sex Offenders List Check, and a Child Protective Services History Check.
3 Recommendations (personal or professional)
TB Test
CPR Certification
Driving record (if you are driving the youth)
Additionally, we are asking that you complete the mentorship orientation prior to starting.
We are asking that a Gardening Mentor commit to at least twice a week meetings with the youth throughout the entirety of the gardening season.
