Mission: To strengthen and support children, families, and individuals as they evolve and grow in a changing community.
Child and Family Charities is a local nonprofit charity that has helped children, youth, and families have brighter futures through 30+ programs, including foster care and adoption, a runaway and homeless youth shelter, behavioral health counseling, and basic needs assitance.
What We Do
Child and Family Charities provides a comprehensive range of programs and services aimed at ensuring the success of children, youth, and families:
- Family Growth and Resource Center: Providing basic needs such as diapers, household supplies, and clothing for free. They also provide education and referral assistance.
- Family Enrichment Center: Assisting foster children through recruitment, training, and placement of foster families, facilitating adoptions, and providing post-adoption support programs to create lasting, supportive families.
- Youth & Family Support Services: Including Teen Accountability Program, and helping families address the root causes of truancy through counseling
- Angel House: A residential program for pregnant and parenting teens in foster care and their children, offering nurturing support and therapeutic services to break cycles of abuse and neglect.
- Gateway Youth Housing Services: Serving homeless and runaway youth (ages 12-21) through a range of programs including Street Outreach, Higher Grounds, Crossroads, SCHYP, and other housing programs.
- Brighter Futures Wellness Clinic: Offering mental health counseling, therapy, assessment, and substance abuse treatment to support children, youth, individuals, and families.
