Who We Are

Mission: To engage people aged 55 and older in volunteer service to meet critical community needs.

Our mission focuses on providing meaningful volunteer opportunities for older adults, allowing them to utilize their skills and experience to benefit local nonprofits, schools, and other community organizations, while also enhancing their own lives through service.

Senior Corps is a network of national service programs for Americans 55 years and older. It consists of three primary programs, each taking a different approach to improving lives and fostering civic engagement. Senior Corps volunteers commit their time to address critical community needs, including academic tutoring and mentoring, elderly care, disaster relief support, and more.

What We Do

Senior Corp volunteers are the heart of a community. Volunteers give their time to help children in school as Foster Grandparents. RSVP volunteers keep parks and trails safe and clean, welcome newcomers to the region when they step off a plane, and provide information in health care settings, senior centers, and nutrition sites. Senior Companions supports aging older adults and works with active military and their families as they deploy to the armed services. Volunteers can choose assignments that support more social contact and teamwork or work in their homes knitting hats, scarves, mittens, and lap robes. Volunteers can learn new skills in crafts, counseling Medicare/Medicaid recipients, tutoring students, or providing community education in emergency preparedness.
