What We Do
Lansing SAVE is a post-secondary savings initiative for students entering kindergarten in the Lansing School District. It is a partnership between the City of Lansing, Lansing School District (LSD), and Michigan State University Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU).
Every kindergarten student is given a Lansing SAVE account at MSUFCU. Students and their families can contribute to the account in monthly financial education lessons taught by Lansing SAVE employees and at any MSUFCU branch.
Money deposited in these accounts can only be withdrawn after high school and the money is reserved for post-secondary education costs from college or trade school.
