* A.S.A.P - We are committed to providing at-risk students with a safe haven where they can thrive academically and personally. Our program combines homework help, tutoring, enriching activities, and nutritious meals to create a well-rounded learning experience that promotes success.
* CARE Cuts - This year we started a new service in which we offer free haircuts on a Saturday every other month to anyone in our community in need. This is a very important service as many of our clients can't afford luxuries such as a haircut. We hope a fresh haircut boosts their self-esteem and makes them feel good about themselves.
* Community Clothing Closet - We provide free men's, women's & children's clothing, as well as shoes, bedding, and small household goods to many local families in need. The closet is open Mondays through Thursdays 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. by appointment
* Community Education Seminars - We regularly partner with local organizations and businesses to organize seminars at local apartment complexes and retirement facilities. Previous topics have included Fraud Protection, Estate Planning, and Community Safety
* Community Garden - The garden provides an opportunity to engage the community by leasing free garden plots to local residents, involving the youth in our other programs through work days, lessons on the growth cycle, harvesting, and nutrition. We also utilize some of the produce for meals in our after school program.
* C.O.P.E Case Management (Community Outreach for Positive Empowerment) - One of our new programs for 2022, it's intended to assist and support vulnerable individuals such as those who have been released from prison or jail, those on probation, those in substance abuse facilities, and victims of domestic violence. We provide client-centered community advocacy services such as counseling, economic security assistance such as housing and food assistance, and help navigating social assistance programs. The program is already producing excellent results, and we are excited to help many more clients become self-sufficient, valuable members of our community.
* Covid Access Awareness - Incorporates Awareness & Action. We devise and promote information regarding COVID and the importance of boosters etc, as well as offering a totally free booking and transportation service to and from appointments for clients aged over 60 and/or have a disability.
* Financial Literacy Program - Held on a monthly basis throughout the year. We collaborate with a variety of financial institutions to present topics and information relevant to our clients. Our primary objective is to impart fundamental knowledge about budgeting, as well as the importance of saving money and effective money management techniques. With between 10-15 clients at each seminar we are helping a lot of individuals create a pathway to economic stability and financial independence.
* Food Pantry - Emergency food assistance for low-income, in-need families and individuals. We operate Mondays through Thursdays 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. by appointment.
* Housing Opportunity Program - We aim to stabilize the Potter-Walsh and other Eastside neighborhoods by rehabbing and/or building homes and assisting clients whose incomes are below the federal poverty threshold in making the transition from renting to homeownership by removing barriers, offering financial counseling, budgeting, and credit analysis.
* Inspire to Achieve Youth Mentoring - Our program matches youth with positive, adult role models for mentorship, guidance and encouragement. It is an opportunity for growth in areas of personal development, educational success, socialization, and recreation.
* Off the Street Youth Anti-Violence Initiative - Providing violence prevention strategies for youth aged 9-16, and violence interruption for youth aged 17-26 by providing life skills and leadership coaching and mentorship.
* STAR Summer Literacy Program - Running daily throughout the summer break, our summer program is free and open to students in grades K-8. Includes creative learning activities, arts & crafts, music, cultural activities, and science experiments.
* Personal Adjustment Counseling - We offer on-site social workers for free counseling and support services for individuals, couples, and families.
