Who We Are

Mission: To offer leadership training through community development for people between the ages of 18 and 40.

JCI Lansing is the local chapter of Junior Chamber International, affectionately known as the Jaycees. We are a membership-based nonprofit organization of 200,000 young people ages 18 to 40 in 5,000 communities and more than 100 countries around the world. Each JCI Member shares the belief that in order to create lasting positive change, we must improve ourselves and the world around us. We seek targeted solutions to the unique problems in our communities to build a better world, creating global impact. JCI Lansing (Lansing Jaycees) is part of the Michigan Junior Chamber and Junior Chamber International (JCI). JCI is an internationally recognized leadership organization that prides itself on building leaders through professional and personal development, community service and government and civic activities.

What We Do

By organizing a variety of programs and projects for the benefit of Lansing, our members learn leadership and management skills. JCI Lansing is also a very social organization with lots of opportunities to meet new people. All programming is member-driven.

Our two current signature projects that we are known for include “Easter Egg Hunt on the Capitol Lawn” providing a free community egg hunt with family activities every year, the weekend of Easter on the Capitol Lawn” and “Stuff the Bus”, a community event held in December, using a CATA bus outside a local merchant collecting donations to give back during the Winter Holidays.
