One Love Global

Mission: To transform communities so Black children experience justice, peace, healing, opportunity, and abundance.

One Love Global (OLG) was founded in Detroit in 2004 by Black residents, including two youth, who wanted to prevent criminalization, inordinate incarceration, and premature death in Black neighborhoods.

OLG’s power-building strategy is centered in community organizing tactics to dismantle systemic racism and create the conditions for Black children to thrive. We facilitate learning and skill development around community organizing, advocacy, racial equity analysis, civic engagement, and accountable allyship. This builds power among youth and community members to organize themselves and engage their families and neighbors. Environmental justice is central in our work at the intersections of economic opportunity, education, safety, and health.
