Volunteer: Volunteer Driver

The Volunteer Driver supports Ingham County MDHHS clients by providing transportation so they can get to medical appointments, locally and outside of the county.  The Volunteer Driver can also transport children in foster care to visitations with family members. Mileage, meals, and other travel related expenses will be reimbursed at the current state rate.

Transporting individuals or families to medical appointments both locally or further outside of Ingham County such as but not limited to Grand Rapids, Brighton, or Ann Arbor Transporting children in foster care to visits with family members Keeping accurate record of mileage and other travel related costs for reimbursement Ensuring appropriate signatures are obtained on transportation paperwork Completing all paperwork in a timely manner Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance and own transportation Safe driving history

Volunteer: URGENT NEED: Blood Drive Volunteer

Volunteers will welcome and assist blood donors with registration and provide attention, care and refreshments following blood donation.

Key Responsibilities

Provide a warm, friendly greeting to all donors Instruct and make donor comfortable in registration procedures Maintain smooth flow of donors into donation area Be alert and notify Red Cross staff if a donor does not appear to be feeling well Offer refreshments and conversation Explain importance of blood donations and encourage people to donate regularly Help schedule appointments for the next blood drive Set up and maintain cleanliness in canteen area

Qualifications

Willingness to support the Red Cross mission MUST HAVE REGULAR OPEN WEEKDAY AVAILABILITY Ability to meet and greet a variety of people in a friendly, courteous manner Ability to communicate and interact with donors, paid and volunteer staff team members Ability to maintain confidentiality in a professional manner Must be at least 16 years-old (or 14 with parent supervision)

Training Provided

Orientation to the American Red Cross Blood Services orientation and skills training Ongoing training to update information

One 6 hour shift every month. Must be ready to volunteer with 72 hours of initial contact from Blood Services Coordinator.
