Volunteer: Adult Chaperones for Peace Prosperity Youth Action MovementPeace & Prosperity Youth Action Movement (PPM) is a group of teens and young adults, ages 12 and up, focused on increasing social equity within our community. We launched PPM in 2009 to engage young people through skill-building and leadership curriculum that prepares them for continuing education, community and civic leadership, social entrepreneurship, and economic mobility to create transformative change. PPM needs adult volunteer chaperones that will work in partnership with PPM adult staff who develop and deliver curriculum, events , and activities in a youth program setting.
Required: Be at least 21 years of age Desire and ability to work with teenagers and children, providing feedback, encouragement, and coaching. Strong communication and interpersonal skills Basic organizational skills Available to meet on two Fridays a month Mandatory background check Fill & sign chaperone responsibility formSpecific Tasks: Partner with teens to oversee program activities. Assist teen leads with program members Ensure the safety and well-being of PPM Assist PPM adult staff with the delivery of program activities if needed, including crafts, clean up after meetings, and community service projects.
