Volunteer: Volunteer Driver

The Volunteer Driver supports Ingham County MDHHS clients by providing transportation so they can get to medical appointments, locally and outside of the county.  The Volunteer Driver can also transport children in foster care to visitations with family members. Mileage, meals, and other travel related expenses will be reimbursed at the current state rate.

Transporting individuals or families to medical appointments both locally or further outside of Ingham County such as but not limited to Grand Rapids, Brighton, or Ann Arbor Transporting children in foster care to visits with family members Keeping accurate record of mileage and other travel related costs for reimbursement Ensuring appropriate signatures are obtained on transportation paperwork Completing all paperwork in a timely manner Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance and own transportation Safe driving history

Volunteer: Office/Lobby Volunteer

The Office Volunteer supports Ingham County MDHHS staff by assisting with greeting and directing clients who come into the lobby, case filing and organizing, returned mail, and other daily office tasks. This position is ideal for friendly person who enjoys interacting with the public in a respectful, compassionate manner.

Greeting clients in DHHS lobby and directing to correct window Assisting clients with online applications (MiBridges) when necessary Case filing and organizing Copying and scanning children’s services reports for court Delivering children’s services reports to court Prepping and scanning returned mail Putting together application packets Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Professional, friendly demeanor Ample organization skills Willingness to follow directions Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must complete volunteer application and background check Must be willing to sign and comply with confidentiality agreement

Physical Demands:

Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time Ability to occasionally walk across the office

Training for this position will be provided.
