Who We Are
Mission: To catalyze community transformation through the arts.
Michigan Institute for Contemporary Art (MICA) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that serves as a catalyst for community transformation through quality arts programming. For more than three decades, MICA has been producing music festivals, helping preserve and restore historic buildings, leading community revitalization efforts, exhibiting visual artists, coordinating poetry, dance, and other performances that engage, inspire, catalyze, and demonstrate the vitality and value of the arts community and the vibrancy of the urban centers as great places to play, work and live.
What We Do
MICA hosts a variety of cultural events, including popular music festivals like the Michigan BluesFest and Lansing JazzFest, and provides a space for visual arts exhibitions. The organization works to foster a vibrant arts scene that engages local residents and artists, helping to drive both cultural and economic growth in the area.
