Wexford Montessori Academy

Mission: To provide authentic Montessori education from experienced staff without charging tuition.

Wexford Montessori is a Montessori school in the Lansing area that combines Montessori methods with Michigan state learning outcomes to foster students’ academic, creative, emotional, and physical development. The school promotes a lifelong love of learning.

The school is divided into four age groups:

• The Children’s House for students aged 4 to 6 (pre-K and Kindergarten)
• Elementary 1 for students aged 6 to 9 (First through Third grade)
• Elementary 2 for students aged 9 to 12 (Fourth through Sixth grade)
• Middle School for students aged 13 to 14 (Seventh and Eighth grade)

Montessori classrooms include mixed-age groups within a three-year range, allowing children to learn at their own pace based on their individual cognitive and emotional development. This setup promotes self-directed learning, independence, and a strong sense of community. Older children help younger ones, reinforcing their own knowledge and skills in the process.
